Planning Board

The Village Planning Board consists of five members, and two Alternates. The current Board Members are:

  • Raymond Fortier, Chairman
  • Mike Stenpeck
  • Doug Baker
  • Scott Shaw
  • Sue Warner
  • Alternate - Richard Rich, Jr.
  • Alternate - VACANT

The Planning Board generally meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 5:30 p.m., in Village Hall. Items to go before the Planning Board must be submitted to and approved by the Code Enforcement/Building Inspector Office no later than 7 days before the next scheduled Planning Board meeting.

Zoning Board of Appeals

The Village Zoning Board of Appeals consists of five members and one Alternate. The Board Members are:

  • Dave Radin, Chairman
  • John Breese
  • Lew VanDuzer
  • Hank Corp
  • Louise McIntosh
  • Alternate - Tony van Dinther

The ZBA meets on an as-needed basis to hear appeal requests regarding Area Variances, Use Variances, Code Interpretations, and the like. Items to go before the Zoning Board of Appeals must first be reviewed by the Village Planning Board for a recommendation. Then it can be heard for final action by the ZBA.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

After more than two years in development, a new Comprehensive Plan was adopted by the Horseheads Village Board on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Copies of this plan are available for public review at the Village Clerk’s Office, the Horseheads Free Library, and electronically (see below).
