Youth Basketball

Horseheads Youth Basketball is for boys and girls in grades 3 thru 9. The program is split into two divisions; Boys and Girls. Each division is split into three classification; Junior (3–4), Intermediate (5–6), Senior (7–9). Classifications may be combined and/or adjusted if participation numbers are insufficient.

League is as follows:

$30 – 1 Child, $50 – 2 Children in the same family, $70- 3 Children in the same family

Registration Deadline is October 24

Player Evaluations will begin the week of October 29.

Coaches and Game Officials are needed. If interested contact the Horseheads Recreation Department; 739–5691.

Presently – Youth Council is continually accepting new member applications. Applications may be picked up at the Town of Horseheads Youth Bureau. Interested 9th through 12th graders may attend a Youth Council meeting at the Town of Horseheads Youth Bureau any Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, contact Bruce May at 739–3517.

Mid-October 2006 – Horseheads Youth Basketball League registrations will be starting the week of Monday, September 18, 2006, at the Horseheads Youth Bureau between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Registration deadline is Wednesday, October 18, 2006. All games are played weeknights at the Horseheads Central School District gymnasiums. There are separate boys’ and girls’ divisions for this event. The cost is: $30/1 player, $50/2 players (same family), $70/3 players (same family). For additional information call the Horseheads Youth Bureau at 739–3517.

Mid-October 2006 – Registration forms for the Fall 2006 Super Saturday Program will be available at the Horseheads Youth Bureau tentatively mid-October. Please call the Horseheads Youth Bureau at 739–3517 to confirm whether or not registrations are available and for further information. The Super Saturday Program is designed to encourage, extend, and further the development, culture, and education of children during their leisure time. The Horseheads High School students who administer the program and teach the classes develop more responsibility, gain work experience, and further their own education. The Fall 2006 dates for Super Saturday are: November 11th, 18th, December 2nd, and 9th.
